Embellished Scarf

Ryoko designed this shawl as a delicate and dressy wrap for the warm summer days ahead. Although the intricate, lace-look of the shawl makes it appear difficult to recreate, it is really a very easy technique. Ryoko simply stitched a random pattern of ribbons and thread onto water-soluble stabilizer. To create your design, she recommends experimenting with different widths and textures of ribbons as well as varying the layout and the spacing between ribbons and threads. Ryoko worked on the MC6500 Professional, but since the project requires only straight stitching, it can be made with any Janome machine.
