Customizer Software

Q: I have many designs from various sources but I am never sure what size they will actually sew out. How can I know the size of a design using the Customizer?

A: There are two ways to see the size of any design. When you Import the design into Customizer, the information box that appears gives you several pieces of information; the number of stitches, the number of colours in the design, the amount of time the design will take to sew out, the design size in millimeters, and which hoop it will fit in. But the easiest way to know the exact size is to print a template. A template will print out the exact size that will be sewn. Sewists are very visual and can relate to a picture better then relying on measurements.

Q: In Customizer 11000, when I print a template of a design that has many colours, my template prints on two pages to show all the colours used. I only want the first page that has the design, especially I am just planning my project. How can I do this?

A: The printing options offer a several variety of templates available. Print Setup will allow you to choose three types of templates: Outline Template (black & white), Colour Template or Colour View (without the cross hair marking). This page also lets you select either a landscape or portrait view. (Choosing landscape will eliminate the colour boxes on the first page when the SQ or hoop RE are used.) Select File>Print, change the Print Range from ALL to PAGES, type 1 in the `from' and `to' boxes. Only the first page, with the design will print.

Q: I do all my computer work at one time then save many designs on my PC. Later I want to download several designs at a time to sew them out. I often forget what file name I gave them. I would like to see the actual design, not just the name when I transfer them to my USB or Compact flash card. Can I do this?

A: Customizer has a built-in feature that makes transferring designs foolproof. On the top menu bar, Select Flash Memory for MC11000 (ATA Card for MC10000/10001, MC300E MC350E, and MC9700). The first option, Write a Design will immediately transfer the design currently on the screen to your USB or Compact Flash Card. This is so easy and you know that the design is being sent to the correct folder so the machine will recognize it. There is not need to select File>Save As and decide where to send it. When you want to send multiple designs to your machine, select the second option Write, Read and Erase Designs. A split window will appear. The left side will display any folder saved on your PC. When you open a folder, all the designs will appear as a graphic image so that you can see the actual embroidery design. This is actually a mini catalogue to all your embroidery designs within a folder.
The right side of the screen will display the folders saved on your USB or Compact flash card. Select the desired folder. When you open these folders you also see the actual designs. ON the left screen, click one or several designs. The Write option will activate to write these designs to the folder on the right side of the screen.
Note: For MC10000/10001, MC350E, MC300E, and MC9700 you need to click on each file for the graphic of each design to open one at a time.
This feature will also allow you to transfer designs that are stored on your USB or Compact Flash Card back to your PC or you can clean up these devices by erasing designs. You can be directly connected to your MemoryCraft but you will need to Select MemoryCraft from the top menu bar. The right side of the screen will display the folders stored in your machine with all the same functions.

Q: My PC is connected to my machine all times and I want to transfer embroidery designs to my MC11000 directly to sew them out. Can this be done?

A: PC Tools is a program that is included with the MC11000. Install this program on your computer from the CD packed with your machine. From the Memory Craft, Select the Open folder on the right side of your screen. Select the last button in the list, PC. Click on the PC Tools Icon on your computer screen. A new window will appear on your computer screen. Choose Browse to select the folder that your designs are stored. This folder will appear in the insert window at the top of the screen. Select Start on your computer screen. On the Memory Craft 11000 screen, a list will appear with the names of the files within the folder you selected. Simply select any file name to open this on the Memory Craft 11000. The design will display on the Ready to Sew screen. If you have selected the Edit Mode, this design will appear on the Edit screen which you can arrange with other designs. By using this method your designs are merely transferred for immediate sewing. They are not stored on your Memory Craft do not take up any space in the machine's built-in memory.
